How Search Engines Work

June 25 Comments off

How Do I Get On Page One Of Google For Free….

Appearing on page one of Google can drive you a tremendous amount of traffic to your website. To really know how to appear on this page, you need to understand how Google works:

There Are Two Ways of Getting Traffic

Using search engines optimization (SEO)

NOT using SEO (using forum, list swaps, or classified ads, content distribution…)

How Does Google Works?

Google ranks individual pages, not your website as a whole! This means that a website could have a hundred of individual pages, and what would happen is Google would read each pages of this website, and depending on a different number of factors, this will determine if that particular page turns up when somebody conducts a search in Google.

When you type in keywords on the Google search bar, you get results known as S.E.R.P’s (standing for Search Engine Result Page) Two different results appears:

– The paid advert results: On the top of the page, and on the right hand side are the “pay-per-click advertising”. People pay a certain amount of money, but they don’t pay money for the ad to appear, they only pay when somebody clicks on the ad… It is paid traffic.

Fact: 1% to 2% of visitors click on the right hand side links, and only 4% to 6% click on the top links.

– The free organic results: All the other results appearing on the page – They are links to pages of main websites. If you appear on page one on Google, on the S.E.R.P’s, you will get a lot of traffic.

Fact: 10 to 30% click on the organic result.

How Do I Get On Page One Of Google in The Organic Results For Free?

It can be relatively easily done, but you need to know what Google wants: They want to look after their customers, they want their experience to be the best possible. They want us (their customers) to trust them!! And we do trust them because they make sure that when we conduct a search at Google, the results that are shown are pertinent to our search request.

What happens is Google have their own setup algorithms for deciding what shows up when we type in a search. Now there are a few factors that determines this algorithm but the MAIN elements that Google looks for are:

Contents

Back-links – A webpage with many links to it from another webpage – If the referring site is a popular site, then even more credibility can it gives you!

If you want to get traffic to your squeeze page, you have to realize that a squeeze page is not full of content, all you are trying to do is building your list. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that but in Google’s eyes, it is not particularly great and so guess what…

GOOGLE DOES NOT LIKE SQUEEZE PAGES!!

So if Google doesn’t like squeeze page, they are not going to rank it in the first place: Your squeeze page will not appear in the search engine results pages – It simply won’t!

But don’t worry because here is how you can appear on page one: Remember Google loves contents – Content is King and therefore one way to appear on page one of the search engine pages at Google is to write a keywords rich article, and then give this article to a popular article directory.

When you do so, you are now on a page at this popular website and remember Google rank pages. So the key is to have an article accepted on a very popular site with lots of back links – lots of contents.

Google loves that website – And because you have got an article on that website – You are kind of swept along with their success – And when somebody types in your keywords, then your article will appear on page one!!

Your squeeze page is never going to appear, ever, in the search engine result pages but an article must certainly could if you choose a good keyword –

This is how search engine works – And how you can appear on page one of Google…GoodLuck

5 Of The Most Important Factors to Consider When Choosing an SEO Company

June 25 Comments off

More than 80 percent of consumers search the Internet to find companies offering the products and services they are looking for. If you do not have a website, you are missing out in tons of leads and prospective clients. Using the Internet to market your business is one of the best investments you can make. If you currently do not have a website, it is time to create a website and optimize the site so that you can expand your book-of-business. If you are not an Internet marketing expert, you can always hire an experience SEO company to get you started. Before requesting an SEO quote, learn the 5 factors you should consider when looking for an SEO company and choose the right SEO services.

  • Look Past the Unrealistic Claims

Some companies claim that they will get you ranked on the first page of Google in as little as a day. You have to understand that improving your position on search engines will take time. You do not want to become number one for a keyword that is rarely ever searched. Make sure that the company explains their claims in detail or there is no point in choosing them to optimize your website.

  • Evidence of Success

Any reputable SEO company should be willing to give you proof of success. They should have an expansive portfolio of sites they have optimized in the past and be willing to show you these sites before offering you an SEO quote. Be wary of the companies who want to show you a list of their SEO services before showing you evidence that their customers have succeeded.

  • What is the Rank of the SEO Company on Google?

Marketing firms who offer SEO services should be experts at what they do. Like you, they want to generate business and market on the Internet. Make sure the SEO company has a high ranking for some popular keywords on the Internet relevant to marketing. If they do not, how will they make your company’s marketing effort a success?

  • Does the SEO Company Offer Reports?

You should be updated every step of the way to see how the marketing campaign is working. You should also keep in touch with the company’s marketing team and make sure they are willing to give you a direct contact number. Getting reliable contact numbers is extremely important.

  • What SEO Services Will You Get?

When you ask for an SEO quote for SEO services, make sure you understand exactly what you are getting. You should compare the SEO services offered by several companies before you ever choose an SEO quote. All of the services should be listed in detail on your quote. Compare what is excluded and included in each package so you can stay on budget.

Once you consider each of the factors above, you can move on to choosing the best SEO quote offered by the best company in the industry. Take time to research the industry, research the companies, and then budget the cost.

Any reputable SEO company should be willing to give you proof of success. Make sure the SEO company has a high ranking for some popular keywords on the Internet relevant to marketing. When you ask for an SEO quote for SEO services, make sure you understand exactly what you are getting. Choose the best SEO quote offered by the best company in the industry.

How to Build a Landing Page That Attracts People to Your Site

June 23 1 comment

The hardest part about this business is a toss-up between creating awesome content and how to build a landing page. Although it’s much easier to create a landing page if you do have awesome content. The landing page or sales page is a page that can be your main page on your web site but doesn’t have to. It is a combination of product brochure and a sprinkling of your business brochure.

On this page you want to convey information about yourself and your business but only in the amount necessary to allow your potential customer to identify with you. You don’t want to go on and on so much that the potential customer clicks away.

  1. The sales page needs to address a problem the customer has.
  2.  It needs to describe how your product will solve this problem.
  3. You need to keep your message focused on the solution.

You want to have the customer’s undivided attention and one way to do this is to keep it focused on solving their problem and allow nothing else on that page.

The anatomy of A Landing Page:

Headline-

The headline is at the top and it should address a problem the customer has and the solution you have to offer in 12 words or less. You will want to use some of the same keywords you used while researching your topic for your product. Search engines will use that information to index your page and make it available when someone uses those keywords. It doesn’t guarantee that your page will be above the fold in the organic listings but it helps.

Business info, your info-

The only real way to determine if a sales page is written properly is by measuring the outcome or conversion rate. Which means that the amount of business info, or personal info that you decide to put into your sales page is entirely up to you. Just remember to put yourself in the shoes of your prospective customer. Some customers will want to know if you are a real person and need as much personal info as you can provide while others will just want you to get to the point and if you don’t do it fast enough, well click.

Product Information-

When describing the product information you should emphasize and enumerate the benefits of the product to the customer. Explain how your product will solve their problem and how it is superior to similar products in some way. You already know what your USP (unique selling proposition) is this is where you tell your potential customer.

Testimonials-

If you have a new product that has never been purchased before it’s going to be difficult providing testimonials but if you do have some positive responses to your product use them. A testimonial is very powerful. It’s something that we don’t want to admit but we all look at others for social proof when making decisions. If your potential customers sees that others have had success with your product they may let a little of their guard down.

Reduce the Risk-

100% money back guarantee. 30 day no risk 110% money back guarantee. When you reduce or eliminate a customer’s risk you take away one of the many objections they may have to purchasing your product. Besides money being at risk a customer’s time is also something of value, if you can convince them that you will not waste their time you will be reducing that risk as well.

Product Benefits-

At this point your customer may be sitting there with a credit card waiting to purchase but you must continue to reinforce the product benefits. Go over again why and how this product will solve the customer’s problem. If they don’t want to continue reading they will just scroll down to the buy now button.

Giveaways-

If you have something that you can add to further motivate the customer to purchase the product then put it in here. Giveaways are great but remember not to distract your customer from the reason they are on your landing page in the first place, to buy.

Buy Button-

When your customer is ready to purchase you need to have the buy button available to them. You can set up your own and have your own online store or you could use a service for this.

P.S –

Stands for Post Script which means after you’ve written everything else. At the bottom of your sales page you can include a personal note that may include some other added benefit that motivates the customer to purchase. This usually comes after the buy button and is intended to be a personal note; it is optional if you want to use it.

When deciding how to build a landing page you must put yourself in the shoes of the person reading it. Ask yourself would you buy this product and if the answer is no go back and write it again.

Get Backlinks – 5 Ways to Build Webpage Rank

June 22 2 comments

It doesn’t matter what industry you are working in, one thing is certain, you need a website. However, after everyone tells you to get a website to help your business, art or passion, most people are left not knowing how to actually get anyone to see their site. If the Field of Dreams was built on the internet, they would not come. Once a site is built it takes hard work and dedication to make your site visible to search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing. And even after all those blood, sweat and tears it might not be enough. That’s why intelligent link building is key to making your site and your business visible on search engines.

Just think of how you use a search engine to complete an everyday internet search. You type in what you are looking for, and then skim at the first three, maybe four search results on Google. If you don’t ever go to the second page on Google don’t think that anyone else in the world will just to find your site. True internet success is found in the top four results in Google. And yes I say Google, because they dominate the market. Google’s market share tends to float around a whopping 66%. So how do small businesses, internet marketers and bloggers compete with large conglomerates that have teams of SEO professionals and websites with strong page ranking due to reputation and website age? Smart link building. It’s going to be tedious, but if you are going to jump into the Wild West we call the internet, then you better bring your wits, because you aren’t going to have the biggest guns. Without further ado, here are the top 5 ways to get backlinks and therefore build webpage rank:

  • Write Quality Articles

After Google Panda and Penguin many sites have been “slapped” due to low quality backlinks that provide no valuable content to users. There are two ways to avoid this: Don’t pay to build links and write quality articles that people will actually want to read. Posting quality, unique articles is essential not only because it will prevent you from getting Google slapped, but because it should be about more than just getting one backlink. You should think about content that you would want to read and then do research in forums and Google Keywords to see what others want to read about. What questions do people have that need answering? Then, once you write a relevant, quality article, this will help build traffic through those sites and provide something more than just a link to move you up in the search rankings. These readers will respect you for your knowledge and may actually click on your backlink to read more of your content or buy your product. Quality articles should be posted in high page ranking general article directories such as EzineArticles or GoArticles. You can also get more targeted backlinks by posting on niche sites. So if you are running a personal finance blog, what better way to find people interested in personal finance than posting on an article directory dedicated solely to finance.

  • Post Quality Feedback to Recent Posts On Forums/Blogs

Posting on blogs and forums is only one portion of this point. Forums and blogs relating to your product or service can provide a strong amount of information on what people are talking about in the area. So if you are selling antique car parts, find a forum where people are discussing antique car parts. Then don’t just spam these readers with a link to your site, but reply to their questions and become a trusted source for information. Many forums allow you to put a backlink in your signature and once people trust you they are sure to click on your link. Also, read as much as you can about the topic. Blogs and forums in your niche area can provide material for your next article to post on a directory or blog post.

  • Build A People Friendly Website

Building a website based solely for search engines will never get you the results you desire. The biggest blogs, news sites and business websites are designed for the consumer. For example optimization is only a small reason The Huffington Post receives millions of views every single day. They write quality content that is trending. Once people start talking about something on your website, sharing a page or a post on their blog or share it on Twitter or Facebook, this is where the real power of the backlink comes into play. If people want to read information on your site then they will spread that backlink for you naturally. Often this is where backlinks are built the most, when your site is not riddled with keywords and it provides value to the consumer.

  • Guest Posting

Commenting on blogs often comes with a no-follow backlink. This can still benefit your site, however the real money is in guest posting on a reputable blog with an already existent following. So if you are an internet marketer selling how to make money online with limited cash and your website has the content it needs to impress a blogger in the same area, why not contact them and see if you can guest post? Bloggers are always looking for fresh new content, and if they like what they see on your site or in a writing example you send them, you just might be able to get a high powered backlink, along with the current viewership of their blog.

  • Free Content Sites

Sites such as Hubpages or Squidoo hold very high page ranking and can be valuable when building links to your site. This is similar to posting on Article Directories but they have different regulations and allow you to post more things such as affiliate links, pictures and surveys. I personally think sites like these are more fun than article directories since you can actually do more, but it is important to diversify your links. Another great thing about free content sites is that you can implement affiliate links and make money. For example, you can post a Squidoo lens and review different types of video editing software if you happen to sell this type of software on your own site. Then you can post links to Amazon or eBay and if people purchase these items you will receive a commission. Just remember to provide quality content and not just a bunch of links selling stuff. And focus on a niche! Become an expert and people will trust in you and continue reading your content or purchasing from your business.

Best Of Luck

What Is SEO?

June 17 Comments off

These days, there’s a lot of talk about SEO, or Search Engine Optimization. There are hundreds of companies employing thousands of people who are dedicated to helping their clients create and maintain SEO compliant websites.

First, let’s start with understanding how search engines work. Today’s most widely- used and popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. use multiple algorithm factors (which are a set of rules that search engines use to determine the significance of a web page) while ranking their listings, since their primary objective is to locate and display content that will bring them the most traffic (and therefore generate more advertising revenue). These algorithms are search-engine specific, which means that the results ranked first on a particular search engine could rank way down the list on another.

It is approximated that up to eighty percent of website traffic comes through search engines, and typically, persons who are searching for something will follow the links that are displayed on the first two or three pages of search results, assuming these to be the most relevant results. This means that if you are a business owner and your name is not appearing on those very critical first two or three pages of search results, you are losing out on a lot of traffic.

This is where SEO comes in.

So what exactly is SEO?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility or ensuring a better ranking of a website or a web page in search engines. Whether you have your own blog or website, or use the internet for browsing and searching for data, SEO is working behind the scenes to determine what data is thrown up in your search results. It tries to ensure a better ranking by search engines by modifying your site in such a way that the search engines consider it more useful and relevant.

How does it work?

To employ effective SEO to a website, we first need to know what words people (such as customers or our target audience) use when they search for a product or service on a search engine. The next step is to use those words in the copy on the site and in the source code used to create the site. The more frequently these words appear, the better the chances are of the search engines picking them up and displaying them in search results. However, using these ‘keywords’ repeatedly on a site without affecting the readability of the copy is easier said than done, and can be a test of skill for the copywriter.

Integrating keywords into the source code, on the other hand, is easier, if you know how, since this is not visible to the reader.

Let’s take an example of how keywords are integrated into code. Suppose if I own an online shopping portal and I want to know what kinds of keywords are used by websites that are ranked at the top by Bing, for example, I search for, say, ‘online shopping for books’ and go to the homepage of one of the first couple of results displayed. Then I right-click on the home page, and select the ‘View Source’ option. A new file will open up which displays the source code. What we need to look for are the ‘meta tags’, which is essentially data that helps search engines recognize data on web pages, and looks something like this-

<meta name=”keywords” content=”books, apparel, jewellery, cameras, watches ” />

<meta name=”description” content=” Online Shopping Platform that offers Buy Books, Apparel, Jewellery, Cameras, Watches at lowest price free shipping. ” />

img src=(will consist of a.jpg or.png image)

alt=(will consist of a description of the image that uses most of the main keywords)

For those of us attempting to understand how SEO is used by the top-ranking websites in a particular category, the use of meta tags in their code can be studied and perhaps emulated, and treated as a template since that’s a website that’s doing it right.

What happens next?

When a search engine’s ‘crawlers’ (automated computer programs that search the internet and index the data they find) search the web looking for specific key phrases that a website or blog contains, it returns that website in the search results.

So how do I include my new website in a search?

A new website does not need to do anything specific to be included in a search. A link from a popular or trusted website will direct the search engines to visit the new website and begin to crawl and index its contents. This could take anything from a few days to a couple of weeks to do.

How do I get the search engines to give my site a good ranking?

‘Inbound links’, or links that lead to a site are extremely important in determining a site’s ranking. The greater the number of links you are able to generate, the better your rankings will be. There are many possible ways to generate links, and there as many suggestions on link-building as there are SEO experts. However, listed here are some of the common suggestions for creating good links-

Write original and engaging content.
Have a profile on all social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
Leave insightful comments on blogs and forums and do leave your signature, but ensure not to be a spammer!
Submit your website or blog’s URL to directories.
Ask your readers to link to your articles, or get another site with a wide readership to review your blog.
Write free articles or newsletters for other sites which link back to your website or blog.
Whatever methods you employ to create links, you need to keep working at it continuously, otherwise there is a risk that your rankings will drop.

What is an SEO company and what does it do?

If you don’t have any SEO expertise or you don’t know how to go about researching keywords to improve your website’s search engine rankings, you could consider hiring a SEO company to do it for you.

The company will do an assessment of your website and recommend changes to your web designer to increase your search engine rankings and traffic to your website, and may also offer to continue monitoring search results and making recommendations for improvements, so that search engine rankings and traffic to the site remain high.
