Batman Arkham City Game Review

July 4 Comments off

If you played Batman: Arkham Asylum and liked it then you are going to love Batman: Arkham City. It is the sequel of Batman: Arkham Asylum. Its gameplay is set one year after the events of Arkham Asylum. In the game, North Gotham has become a place for all criminals. As Batman, you have to bring some sort of peace. Its thrilling gameplay and a number of side-quests makes it a really awesome game.

The gameplay of Batman: Arkham City is mostly about combat, stealth and exploring Arkham City. The atmospheric setting of the game makes it really fun to play and the experience of playing this game is just mind-blowing. If you think that PC games are not fun, then you have to play this game. It will change your opinion of playing games.

The combat system of Batman: Arkham City is one of the best in the world. Unlike Arkham Asylum, you can use all of Batman’s gadgets during combat. As in Arkham Asylum, the method to attack and counter-attack is the same. However, when your enemies possess weapons such as stun guns and shields, the combat becomes more challenging as you will have to apply more combos and use gadgets. What is really more amazing is the slow-motion close-up whenever you finish off an enemy.

Planning attacks against the enemies is also an awesome experience. You can use the ‘detective mode’ to see what weapons your enemies have, where they are situated, what routes you can use to attack them and much more. You can also attack them stealthily by hanging onto a gargoyle or sneak up on them from behind. When you reach a certain level, you get a new gadget, the disruptor, which will let you remotely disable your enemy’s gun. Arkham City also gives you the option to use a smoke pellet to cover up your escape and also leave your enemies fighting each other in confusion. Playing Arkham City on a PC does not reduce the fun of attacking the enemy and you can still have an awesome experience.

However, the combat is still not so easy. You have to be very careful when planning an attack on the enemies and consider all the routes. Even a slightest mistake can take you back to your latest checkpoint. However, this also increases the fun of the game and you will feel that you are really Batman.

The graphics of the game is also breathtaking. The combat scenes are depicted in such an awesome manner that you will carve for more, especially the close-ups of your final attacks. You can grapple onto ledges and soar through the city. It is one of the most exciting aspects of this game. The graphics of Batman: Arkham City is unlike any other PC game. It will make you feel like you are really in the game.

There’s just one downside to the game. The boss fights look amazing but in reality, they are just too easy. You can easily defeat the boss but sometimes, the context-sensitive buttons will make you lose. For instance, you might want to attack an enemy from behind, but you accidentally press some other key and you are killed by gunfire.

Overall, Batman: Arkham City is one of the most thrilling PC games and you just can’t stop wanting to play it just because of one drawback. The other aspects of the game will make you want to play this game again and again and trust me, you won’t get bored. In fact, you’ll love it. This is the type of game that you should and must buy.

Nintendo 3DS XL: Still 3D, But Now Extra-Large

June 20 1 comment

Nintendo is refreshing its 3DS line with a an XL version boasting a 90% larger screen, new colors and longer battery life. As Reggie Fils-Aime, president and COO of Nintendo of America, explains in the video above, the XL will be available in North America on Aug. 19 at a suggested retail price of $199.99. The launch date coincides with that of New Super Mario Bros. 2. In addition to the larger form factor, the 3DS XL will also be bundled with a 4 GB SD card, which lets players immediately download games from the Nintendo eShop. There are also three new color combinations — red and black, blue and black, and silver and black. The refresh comes after initially underwhelming sales for the 3DS — a console that creates 3D images without the need for 3D glasses or other accessories. Nintendo has sold 18 million units of the 3DS since its launch in March 2011, but was a drag on earnings for the company that year. The company slashed prices earlier in the year for its Nintendo 3DS consoles from $249 to $169 to help boost sales, but the move ultimately backfired and influenced a hit on revenue. What do you think of the latest iteration of the 3DS? Would you buy it? Let us know in the comments.

This is the first year since EA Sports massive overhaul of the football genre in 2009 that Konami has taken its hands well and truly out of its pockets and decided it actually wants to do something about it.

The Pro Evolution Soccer franchise will be kicking off again this year, Konami announced PES 2013 today. Though the firm would only confirm an autumn release window, an October release in Europe is to be expected; for as long as the series has been around, Konami has never failed to ship a Pro Evolution soccer game in that month.
